Another Underreported Story

I would also like to bring light to the woman who was seriously injured after a train hit the police car she was handcuffed in. The video of the incident is fairly horrifying, so don't watch it if you are squeamish. I'd like to loop back in the money discussion with this post as well. What happened was that the woman was put into a police car, handcuffed, that was sitting on train tracks. I, for one, refuse to stop on train tracks at a red light. I will leave as much space as I need to to avoid this from happening. Anyways, a train comes and hits the police car with the woman in it. Luckily, she survived, but the negligence displayed is outlandish.

The main thing I want to discuss is how it is reported on via mass media. Let's take a look at some article titles.

"Video shows train hitting Colorado police car with woman handcuffed inside"

"Woman hit by train while in police car is out of hospital"

"Speeding train hits Colorado police vehicle with woman handcuffed inside"

This is a small selection from a small number of articles covering the story. What is the one thing they have in common? The blame is never on the police. Most of the time, the train is blamed for the crash. Trains cannot stop for something on the tracks. It's just physics. This is where the money comes in again. Ever since the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, mass media has been trying hard to restore the image of the police in America. The funders of many of these mass media companies also want this.
